Yesterday when I arrived at Auckland Airport - surprise, surprise - Arie was there to pick me up. Dinner @ Mount Eden and an early night after my whale encounter in Kaikoura.
Since today looked like a rainy day I decided to cancel the trip to Rhangitoto Island I had planned and go to Auckland Zoo instead.
Auckland Zoo is very modern with lots of space for the animals and ambitious plans for the future are in development.
I especially love to see the species that are native to New Zealand because you can hardly see these species anywhere else in the world.
The Kiwi's are housed in a nocturnal enclosure. Now I'm not a big fan of wandering around dark places as my close friends may know.
However, on this occasion the practice I had in Amsterdam nightlife turned out very usefull to stumble my way to the exit whahaha ;-)
